What time of the day
Is the hardest for you? Evening,
For me. What do u do in this time until the urge passes?
*im sorry if I'm asking the wrong kinds of questions..but these are things that I wonder about myself and others going thru the same thing.*

I read and read and read, every post, old posts, new posts until the early hours of the morning. Now I can leave the laptop in the kitchen and watch TV with DH and just check in when I want / need to. First 72 hours I must have been on here for about 60 of them. It got me through it.
Early evening was the hardest time for me. So, I began taking long walks. This helped me feel better physically, distracted me from drinking, reconnected me to my neighbours and community. It was really amazing that it made such a difference to me.
There are no wrong questions, Sarowyn. Welcome to the forum.
In early days (the first few months) I spent all my free time sorting through my issues. I went to AA meetings, I read here and posted in my Class of March thread, I researched things that bothered me about myself. I ate good healthy meals, I called people in recovery when I couldn't settle down. TV, naps, I took a walk every day for an hour. Anything to break the habits of picking up a drink...and there were many.
