I'd rather be...
I'd rather be...
"I'd rather be an ex-smoker with an
occasional desire to smoke, than a smoker with a constant desire
to stop doing it. "
This is from the "junkie thinking" thread.
It is the one that hits me the most for its common sense.
So, what the h*ll is wrong with me???
Why am I still smoking, when I really want to quit???
When I'd really RATHER be an ex-smoker with an occassional desire to smoke, than a smoker with a constant desire to quit???
This consistency is nagging! If it were a kiddie nagging me this way, I'd get PO'd! And I am angry at myself for still smoking!
I watch my heroin addicted son recover for six months now. He uses methadone.
So, why isn't the patch enough for me???
Am I that weak?? What do I need to get this motivation??? What's wrong with ME???
What is YOUR favorite, most thought provoking piece from that thread, or any other motivational piece you have read about quitting?
Thanks for sharing anything that may help...
Shalom!
