I made it through Halloween!
I made it through Halloween!
30 days tonight! As I was trick or treating with the kids and husband, there were those "fun" neighbors who had adult beverage stations and then those who walk around with beer or wine as their kids trick or treat. I really had no temptation at all! Partly because I may have been eating a little too much candy (well way too much that I felt naseuous). But I actually feel a little hypocritical because in my head I was thinking, "can't these people just celebrate Halloween with their kids without having a !$&$ alcoholic beverage in their hand!" Maybe it's resentment that I can't be a "normal" drinker. And a little insecurity that they will think I'm some no fun stick in the mud. Oh well, I made it 30 days, and I will continue.

Congrats on 30 days! This was my first Halloween sober and without any parties. I'm ok with that. I was a bit sad thinking of all the "fun" people were having at the parties but I've done enough of that in my lifetime so time for something new.

At the moment at 12 days sober I still get extremely jealous whenever I see someone with a drink.
My drinking's been kind of all or nothing for the last years and whenever I wasn't drinking for a longer time I became so annoyed by people who did drink. Especially in situations where I didn't expect it.

Congratulations on 30 days! That is terrific.
It's hard to see everyone wandering around clutching their adult beverage. Like you have to have one to enjoy the trick or treating. I felt left out when I first quit drinking but as time passed, I realized that I don't need alcohol to enjoy an event.
Adults have taken over what was a kid holiday. Adding alcohol to the mix to make it more sophisticated fun. But really, we don't need alcohol to make it more tolerable.
Keep going! 30 days is awesome.
