Tiredness... At 4 months

Hi. I am looking for information in regards to being chronically fatigued. I'm not depressed, seen my Dr.etc. Really grateful for sobriety and a lot of things. But the tiredness is something else. Anyone else experience this, even at this point? I eat well, walk, drink lots of water. But I cannot shake napping in the early afternoon.

Your experience regarding this would be appreciated. 😊

I know the feeling. There have been times at work when I was sleeping sitting up. Sometimes it's our age and so many other things can affect this. I love coffee! And coffee loves me. :-)

I made a similar-ish post about this recently. I've been chronically tired before I ever even started drinking though, so I can't really attribute mine to recovery. I do understand your frustration when it comes to dealing with it though. Coffee is my best friend.
I do know sometimes it takes a while for our brains/bodies to go back to normal...sometimes more than four months. I wish you the best of luck with finding a solution.

I can be very lazy.
My wife loves exercising but I truly don't.
But, I feel much better both physically and mentally after doing exercise.
Got to use it or you will lose it.

My favorite is bicycle riding -- gets blood to the getting older brain.
I sure fell good (after those rides).

I have struggled with this off and on quite a bit - even before I started drinking like a fish. What I found is that I need Vitamin D. When I don't take it, I can really feel it - fatigue, slight depression, etc.

I was going through major fatigue earlier this year (around 3 months sober) and found out I was extremely low on vitamin D. I also tested positive for an autoimmune disorder but I am treating only with vitamin supplements and it has made a difference.

Good idea about the vitamin D.
I was chronically tired for months. I can't remember exactly when it started to get better, but it gradually did. I'm sure it was at least 4 months, though, before it started to improve.

I live in MN and have Season Affective Disorder - if I don't start taking high doses of Vit D by say October 1 - I REALLY start to feel it. I take those doses at least through May. A little less June-Sept but still I take it because sunscreen affects absorption and I wear a ton of it in summer.

I remember being very tired the first 6 months.....
Your body is healing. Take it easy on yourself and allow the healing to come....Congrats on 4 months!

I'm at around 4 months as well (quit June 20), and I'm the same as you. Healthy, eat well, exercise, I'm at a good BMI, good bloodwork. I can fall asleep any time of day and really have to fight it at work in the afternoons. Right now I'm considering closing my office door and taking a 30 minute nap.

I was tired for a good few months but my last withdrawal had some complications.

I eventually got my energy back - and if you've seen the Dr and all seems well - I'm hopeful you will too Abby
