Insomnia started after day 28

Hello,
It`s day 33 for me. I was sleeping very nice for the first 28 days but the insomnia started after day 28. I am not able to sleep till 3 or 4 am. I feel exhausted, my eyes are closing but i can not sleep.
Is it common after a month? seems weird to me..

Exercise will probably help.
Congratulations on staying sober.

Are you drinking caffeine at night?

My insomnia still comes and goes 130ish days in. I've pretty much made my peace with it.

Congrats on Day 33!
Someone mentioned exercise and I agree. It doesn't have to be a massive amount. Just about 20 minutes of walking at a pace that makes you sweat a little bit will do it. It's amazing how it can work.

If I don't exercise I don't sleep that well. I walk about a mile or two with my dog at a clip that's good for me, -and the dog. Then I sleep well, and she doesn't wake me up at 5 am.

I agree w exercise. Working out 4 to 5 times a week for about an hour is awesome.

I think sleep cycles. 1 day 6 hours, next 5, next 7, next 4 or 5. Depends on so many things.

I heard 6 hours is a good amount once you heal up ok from drinking.

Another thing to do is...only get in bed to sleep or nap.

Otherwise, sit in a chair.

No laying in bed for tv or tablet.

Bed is for sleep only.

Thanks.

Yes but not too much.. But i drink too much tea. Maybe that is the problem. I kind of replaced it with alcohol. And i smoke more than i used to.

That might also be the problem. Reading from my phone and tablet. I am starting swimming today and see if it helps..

Exercise and a multivitamin.
Wired but tired is, according to some, associated with the continued healing after going sober. I've had insomnia my whole life so I can't tell however for normal people it seems to go away, though it can take some time.

hey b83...
it is not uncommon for some to experience insomnia and other bits of mental anguish in the early going...

exercise does help... even if it's just going for a walk and getting some outside air in the evening
