Addiction to alcohol or drugs affects
us physically, emotionally, our minds,
bodies in all areas. We become so dependent
on these dangerous substances that
we don't see the damage they do to
us. We don't feel it, don't see it because
we are always so numb, blind, oblivious
to it as well being in denial of it.

Once we stop drinking or using and
even for yrs after, we begin to feel,
experience our minds and bodies
as they are suppose to be, but are
severely damaged due to all the
dangerous chemicals we've put
in them.

We are now scared of the results
or after affects of these chemicals
that we don't know what to do, so
we reach out for answers, guidance,
suggestions.

The healthiest way to move forward
would we to make a doctors appointment
for a full evaluation and checkup to
assess the damage done to our minds
and bodies from yrs of substance abuse.

It will take time for all to heal but
using our physcians and a program
of recovery, we then can begin to heal
and learn to live a healthier, happier,
honest life for yrs ahead of us.

No 2 peoples bodies and minds
are exactly alike, and substance
abuse affected us differently, yet
similar in ways. Getting yourself
into recovery and far away from
our addiction will benefit us in many
positive ways.

Take care of you and learn a recovery
program to begin the healing process
and build a strong solid foundation to
live and enjoy down the road.

Follow those that have found that
success in living a sober or clean way
of life because we all have been there,
done and experienced many of the
same similar things as you and have
found that hope that if they could live
a life free from addiction then so can
you, we and including myself.

And I did 26 yrs ago.

Anemia can cause nose bleeds. My daughter gets them. Alcoholism can cause Anemia. Why stuff like this happens after quitting I don't know. People often get sick after quitting too. See your dr for a blood work up.

Well I haven't had any beer yet and no more nose bleeds. When im a drinker I usually get runny nose even when i wake up in the morning. When i quit it seems my nose gets excessively dry, so maybe thats why it happens. idk

Alcoholism also causes high iron. Apparently called hemochromatosis. Guess what the symptoms are! The same as anemia.
I had a bleeding problem when I drank. And after I drank. If I cut myself, if I got nosebleeds, I would bleeeeeed and bleed and bleed. When my dr did my blood work and told me my iron was very high, I asked what the remedy was (aside from the obvious quitting drinking) and she said, well, you can give blood.
Made me think of the antiquated bloodletting. Picturing myself in Scotland in 17th century on a plank bed dripping blood into a pot below me, or something.

Anyways, I'd say go for a check up and ask for a full blood panel. Keep yourself hydrated.

Also, stop picking your nose.
