It would likely be best if your friend searched for his own sponsor. The best suggestion would be for your friend to go to various meetings and meet people and chat with them. Hopefully he will connect with someone.

I agree with Anna - your friend needs to do their own groundwork here.

It's their recovery, why wouldn't they want to do the foundation work, y'know?
