Hi guys, just wanted to share the good news.

I am starting intensive out patient program next week. After years of progressing into a lying, bottle hiding, stumbling down drunk, I am finally going to my first center.

I have caught this before it ruined my two jobs, my relationships with my son, parents, and boyfriend, and my health. Although I have had my share of embarrassing moments. My parents and boyfriend are extremely supportive and just want me to be healthy.

I am thankful this disease has not taken my independence but if I had continued down that destructive road I would have lost everything.

I am almost in tears because this is the first time I can say truthfully that I want this. The other times I was in denial - waiting to get better so I can drink again.

I am grateful and excited for my road to recovery.

That's great news and a big step for you, congratulations on making the commitment. I can understand how it seems scary, but you'll learn a lot and the work done in the short term will benefit you for the rest of your life.
