Day 3 - being grateful
Hi everyone - Starting on Day 3 with a broken rib but thankfully zero cravings. Still in a lot of pain. A lot to contend with this week aside from the rib. We made the decision to let an employee go, which will happen tomorrow. They are just not performing up to expectation for what we are paying them and are seeing a lot of immature behavior such as trying to always cut out of work early, issues with being on time for meetings, etc. It's for the best but very disappointing.
Also have problems on the home front but I decided that I need to get my sobriety established before any other important decisions personally. I need to focus on me and getting sober and healthy. Nothing else positive can happen without that. So in spite of feeling overwhelmed, I am making a proactive choice today to be mindfully grateful for what I do have: a wonderful son, a good business that affords me some flexibility to take care of myself and the luck to still be alive and healthy (sans rib). I'm also grateful for the wake up call of a rib injury that has brought me to Day 3 and for this community. xoxo
