Alcohol craving dream

So I woke up about 2 hours after falling asleep in a panic state, after dreaming I was obsessively driving around deciding which liquor store to go to, with a few fender benders along the way. Walked into a liquor store and someone I knew was in there, so I couldn't buy anything. The scary part was the 100% determination I felt in getting booze, as the most important drive. I sometimes forget about that feeling, maybe it was my subconscious reminding me. I havent had a drink in over a year and haven't been thinking about my sobriety a lot, or going to see my LADC. Very creepy and realistic. Just wanted to get that out there, I guess.

Those kinds of dreams are very common phlowing.
As long as you're not doing it when you're awake, I think you're doing great

What a relief ... After you woke to know it was just a dream.

I've had these dreams before and understand they are common, this one kind of blew me away though. Not taking my sobriety for granted today.

I think of those dreams as important reminders of where I never want to go again. My brain's way of telling me not to drink again, even if I'm not conscious of wanting to. They are disconcerting, though.

Isn't it strange ! when I'm very thirsty during the night I have dreams of drinking water , when on a low calorie diet I dream of junk food , when I've not had sex for a while I have naughty dreams , and I have boozy dreams now that i'm sober .

I went through a phase of analysing dreams , what they mean , are some of them omens etc . What I found was that it was causing my anxiety levels to increase worrying about last nights dreams . I made a decision to stop trying to work dreams out and just accept that they happen as part of who we are . some sites go deep into this subject and some say we dream of past lives , yes some weird and wonderful ideas .
