Supliments for winter ! premature ?

Supliments ! I used to spend a small fortune on them . last winter I felt terrible so maybe I should begin building myself up for the coming months , yes its only August but already the days are getting shorter . I know this is a very personal thing and that some people swear by certain combinations , Ive tried many but never felt any better . I am seriously thinking about a good S.A.D lamp this year too as I always feel better in summer . Main symptoms as I remember were wide spread muscle aches and pains ,brain fog ,low mood ,panic attacks .

Was counting up my sober days and realised I am 90 days tomorrow and I feel good most of the time with some crappy days but I handle them .

Thanks

Coingrats on 90 days Thomas

Like I always say, it's best to check with your Dr before starting supplements...even the most 'natural' can interact with other medications or might not otherwise be suitable for you?

SW, Dee seems like no time since May and thanks for the 90 days support . In hind site posting on supplements was probably not a good idea.
Folks listen to Dee regarding this as there are a million and one opinions on whats best or worst for that matter .

I take a vitamin D in the winter. It's a common vitamin deficiency amongst folks especially in the winter with shorter days and less sun. Helps me sleep better too if I take it regularly.

I was told this week that if your shadow is longer than your body you won't be getting vit D from sunshine. I'm on prescribed supplements for a deficiency.

the good news is that 2+ years sober I don't have to take the vit B compound or thiamine any more so the vit D supplements are fine by me!

I would definitely try and be sure to exercise even if you don't feel like it. Even ten minutes a day. Summer is my "Sad" time and that's what I started. Breathing exercise seems to be helpful as well.

I use the SAD lamp for twenty minutes every morning during the shorter days of winter. I do find it helps me. Evidence is anecdotal at best from everything I've read, but my doctor says it can't hurt.

Thanks all , I celebrated my 90 days sober today by cleaning the car inside and out , cleaning the cooker inside and out , power washing a stretch of paving , cleaning every window in the house inside and out , helping my son build his new bike . 90 days ago I struggled to rinse a tea spoon .

Oh and I think I need spelling lessons ...Supliments ? haha .

Enjoying tea and toast watching the olympics now .
