30 days
Unless I drive to the store and get beer right now (it is 10:30 pm where I am) then my clock will show 30 days sober. Don't worry , I am not going to the store! This is my first time to ever hit 30 days since I started drinking in high school maybe 15 years ago. I'm very proud and kind of shocked. I have just been taking it a day at a time. I really don't have any plans but just to not drink day by day. There is one small part of me though that is a little sad I don't really have anyone to really celebrate with. I don't really attend meetings and only a select few family members know. So I will celebrate with you guys! It's been a good month. The first 2 weeks dragged but my days are picking up speed.

Your post has encouraged me to make 30 days.
Best.

No one to celebrate with?!!!!!
You are celebrating with US, and we are thrilled to have been included!
And, personally, I'm very happy that you feel Proud. I have embraced shame for so long that I'm afraid to. So thank you for showing me that it's OK to give yourself credit where credit is due.
Keep moving forward, and keep checking in. Your successes are our successes too.

It's been smooth sailing so far. I too had been drinking since high school, though that's been closer to 35 years ago. Many stops and starts over the years. First visited SR back in 2013. Didn't really hit 'rock bottom' I guess, though I guess that depends on your perspective. Emotionally I hit my rock bottom. Decided that I wanted to spend whatever time I have left as a sober person, and see what that was like. It's a strange new world, but I wake up with a smile on my face every morning. I know in my heart that I will never drink again. And I couldn't be happier. I'm so thankful for you, and all of the people on SR that are along for the journey.

Yes it is defiantly a strange new world. Although I haven't felt happy all this time I know it is extroidinarily better than if I had drank the last 30 days. I am nowhere out of the woods but the forever part doesn't scare me. When I think I may never drink again I say well good! Ha . I'm glad to have eberyone here also. It is my main support system

Well since I am celebrating with you guys I will let you know I put my fear aside and went to a face to face meeting and got my chip. I made two new connections to where hopefully we can encourage each other to keep going to meetings. A good day to end my 30 days and see 31 looking a lot brighter
