Little tough today

Had a fairly strong urge today. It's real hot and did some outside work. Thought how nice a cold beer would be. Rode the wave and smiled all the way to the bottom. I knew I could do it but have to be careful. It came on fast and loud. Day 11 in the books. My decafinated ice un-sweet tea is my new drink of choice. Thanks SR I know I can do it. Feel real happy

Congrats, it is really tough at the beginning.
It does get easier. The warmer days still tempt me occasionally but it's just a passing thought now.

It gets better it really does. It's tough in the early offings, but as long as you realize that and sounds like you do, it's definitely do-able. Early congrats on an even dozen , you got this!
The sudden urges or cravings aren't signs of not quitting or being able to, they are par for the course, ride' out, that builds sober muscles and the more you do it the less you will have to. Keep truckin !

Every time you beat that urge, you get a little bit stronger.

I'm older and drank for a long time. Not as bad as some but bad enough. I tried to quit many times as well. Some how each time I failed I knew to focus on why I failed. Each time I was improving my "plan" even though back then I didn't know about plans. Then i found SR. I really think SR is the piece of the puzzle that was missing. The part that is going to make it stick. The wonderful people, support, and information on how to stay sober has done more for me then I can ever express in words. I noticed a funny thing, In prior attempts I used to lay in bed and think about drinking. Pissed as a snake. Now I think about all the great things I learned here. Can't wait to give back when I get some more distance between me and my drinking days.
