Please link me to AA meetings! (I've been trying!)

I cannot find a page where I see the listing of the meetings in my area. It gets confused and gives me two listings. I live in a big city--I know this info is wrong.

I have to go as part of my 12 step program. I have never had any luck with AA--I've hated them each time, but I'll try again. I think I'll go to Women only.

I would also like a more science-based meeting.

We're gonna need to know where. At least the state.

Private message me for links to AA meetings. I do suggest going with an open mind this time and to relate in to what others say instead of relating out.

AA isn't the only way to stay stopped and may not be for everyone.

Best wishes on your sober journey!

Nothing wrong with attending a Closed meeting, it just means it is for those who have a desire to stop drinking, not for med students, wives, husbands or significant others to attend, too.

Get to a meeting with that open mind!

Closed just means it's for people who want to stop drinking. Open meetings, anyone can go to.

I attend all women's meetings and mixed gender meetings. If it's about recovery and the steps, it's a great meeting!

They're harder to find locally, but I hear Smart Recovery meetings are great. It's the more science-based approach you said you were looking for. Good luck whatever you decide.

You don't have to commit to any one particular meeting. Just try a few and see where you feel most safe. I'd start with the one that is the first one yiu can get to. And the next and the next. Procrastination isn't so helpful. Action is key here.

If you have a desire to quit drinking, you can go to any AA meeting. My advice is like the old Nike advertisements "Just do It!".
