Back to reality....fast.
I've been in real estate school since Tuesday full time. I have not been in a formal classroom for quite some time. This particular program moves us along rather quickly and I am trying to absorb as much as possible. Need to pass state and federal exams to practice. Alcohol is not even a thought. I come home hungry, mentally exhausted and tired. Just wanted to check in, hope everyone is doing well. Will have more time to catch up over the weekend.

One more thought on the oxycodone pills. Not having anything to do, it became as much of a mental obsession as a pain reliever. I am a structured person, so if pills are part of the routine, they are part of the routine. I'm not taking enough to be seriously physically addicted. (20-25mg per day). I did some reading awhile back and these kids were taking 150 mg a day recreationally for 6 months at a time.
My mind is now elsewhere and I do not have that nagging thinking in my mind about watching the clock to take a pill. I am looking forward to seeing my doctor.
As I mentioned last week, I had some pretty strong urges to drink. I was trying to justify it every way possible. 4th of July, last week of "freedom" until school started, its been a long time, all those reasons you convince yourself its ok and no one is going to get hurt. Got through it though by keeping myself busy. I was the cook, so I was on the grill a lot, I also went and shot guns with my nephews, and went swimming at my brothers. What a trip that was being in the pool. First time I have been able to squat all the way down (because I was in water). My knees have not felt that "motion" in a year. Felt great though.
Looking forward to catching up on posts/threads.

Hi Jeff,
Sounds like the class was good, I always tell teachers that students should be the ones going home tired at the end of the day, not them.
When do you take your exams?
Hope you enjoy your weekend.

Congrats on the bravado to get back in the classroom.

I did real estate school about about seven years ago while still drinking (not during the day or in class or anything like that) and I passed both state and federal. Surprisingly the state exam was much harder than the federal, IMHO. So glad thoughts of drinking are not even on the table for you. You'll do great. I worried the whole time about passing the exams and wish I hadn't done that looking back now. Good luck.

Hi Delilah, I have exam prep Monday and Tuesday, will take the test Thursday or Friday next week. Then 60 more hours in the class room but no more tests.
