Newbie here
Hello,
I am new here. Not sure how all this works. I have been clean for 5 months. I go to meetings, have a sponsor and work the steps or I try to anyway. I have a 9 month old baby boy. I lost custody of my son due to my drug use and suicide attempts but I am currently working hard to get him back. I have him 3 days a week now which is pretty awesome. I struggle with depression but I try to stay positive even if some days I am just a total mess. I am happy to be here with you all and I hope I can learn from all of you.

Welcome! This is a really great place to find support, be able to vent in a safe environment, and a wonderful place to connect with others who have been, there, done that so to speak.
Great job on 5 months clean and being able to work towards getting your son back. I am sure those 3 days are amazing and it is all those amazing moments that help us keep going when the depression hits or we start to get a little too comfortable in our sobriety.
When I first got sober (DOC heroin) I had a really hard time with the depression and anxiety that came with being sober. Luckily, I found an amazing team of doctors that all work together (doctor that specializes in addiction, psychiatrist that specializes in addiction, and a substance abuse counselor) and when I got on the proper medication that was when things truly turned around for me.
Glad you found us!
