30 days and feeling great
30 days and feeling great
Hey everyone! So I hit my 30 day mark today since my last Tasmanian Devil of a bender. Went to some really good meetings the last couple of days with some wonderful messages in them. I'm currently working on the 4th step with my sponsor and even with all the crap I still have to deal with I feel really great today. I was never one to believe let alone be fully engulfed in AA, but I'm so glad I am. When I was previously trying to work the program I felt I did surrender, but something was still missing. I'm actually working the steps and not reading when my previous sponsor had time. My current sponsor and I go to meetings and we have a set schedule on when we read and work the steps. My wife said "If its working for you keep doing it" which is a far cry then what I got last week about AA consuming my life. I go to meetings when I can. I still have job, family, relationship duties I need to maintain, but I wont be able to do any of them if I dont have myself right. She understands that. If I'm correct then everything else will fall into place.
Keep on trucking.

Way to go getitright. I've followed your story and I think an alcohol free lifestyle looks much better on you. If I recall you have some important dates coming up this summer and having some significant sober time under your belt would be very positive and helpful. Keep is going man.
I do have some important dates coming up. I have a business trip coming up starting next Sunday for a week. The thing is I have this monitor on my ankle and I'm waiting to see the judge to get approval to go. My lawyer already set the ball in motion, but of course we're cutting it close. I HAVE TO GO on this trip. I've put it off way to long and my job of course doesn't know about my issues. So if the judge doesn't approve me going I have no idea what I'm going to do.
June 20th is another date I have for a status check for my last case. I still need to pay the fine of 685.00 with no extra money. I have to complete the DUI online class as well. That's another 250.00. So shruggs...I have no idea. I have another court date on Aug 1st as well. Prelim hearing for the bs I got caught up in in February. Oh yea I still owe my lawyer 2700.00 for that case.
I'm amazed how much drinking can cost you. So a couple of tall cans lets say 5 total leaving the gas station is about 10 to 12.00 dollars. 7.5 ml of Vodka depending on the kind but for me it was Smirnoff., so that about 15 bucks. So hundreds in medical bills, thousands in legal bills. Interesting difference.
