Tonib,

1 sober hour of sleep is better than 12 drunken hours of sleep.

Rest easy knowing that.

I am a shift worker and my sleep schedule is jacked.

No meds here. I usually cycle between 5 to 7 hours a night.

My advice....I work hard to stay in bed for 8 hours and focus only on my breathing. No obsessive thoughts.

Yep, unfortunately insomnia can be a common problem during withdrawals. I'd be very careful with sleeping pills or any other meds, they can become addictive too. There's a lot of natural ways to help ease the insomnia, and it will eventually go away. Your body needs time to adjust after quitting.

Yes as others have pointed out sleep will return naturally but it takes times. The best way to do it is naturally so you don't get hooked on a new substance. When natural sleep returns it is awesome. Hang in there, it will return.

The few times I went through withdrawals, I knew my body would sleep when it was finally exhausted enough. In the meantime it is difficult. Maybe try a natural sleep aid?

Great job. That's when I woke up too! I just figure I'll sleep when I'm tired enough.

Sometimes though it seems like that time will never come. God, I remember being up for 36 hrs straight way too often.
