Librium detox and cigarettes

Hey I'm in the middle of an alcohol detox and am on a librium taper. Does anyone know if smoking cigarettes really effects the drug? just read it on a journal and the doc didn't tell me. looking for personal experience. Thanks

Dr's opinion is always best, I have done it years ago, no issues but I didn't ask
