Strange question for men coming off methadone maintence program

I'm asking about my cousin. He was on meth maintenance program for over 20 years. Went cold turkey from 70 to 0.

He tells me that other then his mind is still feeling effed up, but a lot better, that the one lasting thing that he has is that he feels like he takes viagra everyday. He is always like aroused.

Yes, I am female, he is male, but it just seems that people open up to me and tell me things that they wouldn't normally say to another person.

So I was wondering if this could be part of withdrawal from meth program, he seems to think so, or if it could be something that might need medical attention.

All opiates and opioids diminish sex drive to an extent. Stop taking them and it returns.

When ever I go through opiate withdrawl my sex drive comes back with a vengance, usually only about 24 hours after my last hit.

Thank you for the replies,

My cousin told me that he went cold turkey off the MMP in 11/2014. Said that he couldn't afford it anymore. He was on it for 22 years, and prior to that he was on heroin for at least 10 years. He's 51.

I have been helping him with support mostly. Thinks like getting him a cheap phone so that he could talk to me. Researching the internet for him. (He has no internet, he has no cable)

Think next thing I will approach with him is to file for ACA. Tell him to go get a physical. Seems like if he is about 18 months clean, this shouldn't be happening, but regardless, he still needs to have a physical.

I'm only helping him this much because he was living like a hermit, in the middle of nowhere, 25 miles out of town, with no transportation.

Thanks,
amy
