Does life begin at 40?
Well in an hours time I will be on day 40 of sobriety. That's 40 days of going one day at a time and starting the day off with deciding "I'm not going to drink today, maybe tomorrow"
After a jittery start to the week the last couple of days have been pleasant with no desire to drink. As my wife tells me " if you drink now after this time you will feel so disappointed in yourself" and for once, (don't let her know this), she is absolutely correct.
I tend to be a visual person soI keep my sobriety bracelet on which states one day at a time and the date of my sobriety and I also have a leather necklace and on that dangles the tree of life and the serenity prayer. (only £1.99 on eBay ).
So I end this week feeling positive which in itself is a new feeling I'm getting used to.
Take care and keep strong one day at a time.
