Starting my fourth week of sobriety
Well I'm very proud to say I have just entered my fourth week of sobriety as its day 21 today. It's been hard but I reckon just another 20 years or so and I would have licked this drinking nonsense.
I would like to thank everyone on here for your amazing support.
I went to a charity bash today in a pub with a musician that I know well performing. After an hour it was so busy I had to get out of there. It was interesting as a lot of my really alcoholic drinking buddies who still get drunk daily made a point on congratulating me that I still wasn't drinking, and it was like they were genuinely proud of me.
Anyway I popped to a different pub as another friend was performing a Bowie set- he was very good but only stayed there about 15 mind as some really drunk and doped up bloke I know wouldn't stop going on- his one of those who talks at you and not with you. I pretended to answer my phone, went outside and straight to the car.
I'm quite worried about getting to day 29 sober as I will then be sober the longest I ever had and I know Mr AV will say "see you've done it and can stay off the source you'll be ok to drink again,. To counter this I have ordered a leather recovery bracelet which will be engraved to say "one day at a time " and the date I became sober. I think this will give me a constant reminder to not let myself down.
Once again I have to say you lot are amazing.
