Abuse Discussion Forums
Not here. There are many good reasons for that also.
It has been suggested, but when I read the reasons for why not, I can understand it.
This is all from my own POV.
1. Many abused people come here thinking or wishing it was just the alcohol, then if they didn't drink then they might actually turn into a decent human being.
2. Right along with #1. People who are being abused are also in denial
3. Alcoholism and abuse really are 2 separate things. (Yes people who are alcoholics can be manipulative and controlling, but I do really think many people know when I say there is a difference between an abusive relationship and alcoholism.
4. There are many on this forum that have been in both.
5. If you want to just talk about the abusive side of it, again, there are many here that you can talk to.
6. If you really need a forum strictly for abuse, (physical, emotional, financially, religiously, etc... there are many out there and you can pm me for the places that I went to also.
I think it is so hard for so many here that are posting, when in a way they wish if the alcohol went away, then the marriage would be better.
Most times alcoholism is just a symptom of a bigger problem.
