Tax season is disappointingly different

My first sober tax season in a long time and I expected so much better. I thought by being sober it would help a ton, but really I dread work even more. So dang boring. At least while drinking I had something to look forward to when I was working until 2am. But I'm less worried about stupid mistakes, looking too horrible in the morning, and that drive home. So there is that. It's way tougher being excited about each new sober day like it was earlier. But I can't complain. 30 or so pounds lost, probably $800 saved. Sigh. Hope everyone else is doing great. Love the positive results everybody is getting.

Why not make plans for something you can look forward to after tax season is done, Steve?

Thanks Dee. My plans for after tax season are stacking up like crazy. Golf, buying a house, but mostly getting some quality time with the family. I wasnt meaning to gripe too much because my life is pretty awesome, but just long days right now reminds me of how beer took my mind of it. Of course the positives not have drinks outweigh that one thing.

Keep on Steve (and the odd gripe or rant is fine!) I used to dread periods at work also. Looking back now, they were made worse by the drudge of an alcoholic stupor. It's so much easier sober. Chin up.

Steve, you're right, there are still things that aren't great, such as long days working on taxes. But, your plans for after tax season sound wonderful. Enjoying your family and buying a new house - awesome!
