A Lifesaver

Hi everyone! Here I am again writing about a slip I had today (and it was a slip - 4 glasses of wine - and minor amounts of vodka) and I am totally stressed out because we have an employee not working out and my partner addressed it and still no improvement. I'm really sad that I can't control my drinking - I feel like a really bad Mom

Do you know why you decided to drink today? It would be good to figure that out and make a plan so that it doesn't happen again. There are healthy ways to deal with stress that you can learn. You can do this!

You're in the right place. Can you commit yourself to not drinking anymore today?
You're not a bad mom or bad anything else. We all have to start somewhere. Take some time around the site and read a lot of the great resources to be had here. There are so many options available to aid you if you are ready and willing to seek a path to recovery. There is a sticky regarding how members have quit and what they did to work on recovery... there is another sticky regarding recovery plans which is highly recommended.

You can control your drinking. You can decide not to drink anymore today. You can decide not to drink tomorrow too. The important thing is to find the tools to help you stick to a better life for yourself. Have you talked to your dr about your struggles?

Best wishes, you are among people who care here, and understand.

Hi Beanie Baby

The thing with drinking over stress is it actually adds to the stress overall.
Let your partner handle the employee - I think you need to focus on yourself for now.

whats your recovery plan look like? do you have one?

D

Yeah, alcohol has never helped me resolve a single stressful situation, but it sure has landed me in a few.

Having plans to deal with stresses is a vital point in my overall sobriety plan.

Thanks to all of you ! I think I'm a woman who can be great but held back with my addiction. Please pray for me.
