Hi there
I am new to this site. My sobriety journey - well, hard work, confusion, despair, sublime exctacy -- I was born into a broken home, into all sorts of stuff, I was a full on addict alcoholic as soon as I discovered booze and pills. My teens / 20s. By 24 I was physically half dead. It took me 6 years in and out off recovery to finally stop - and since I was 30, I have stayed sober and clean- I am just about to turn 50, so am just hitting 20 years sober. I am actually stunned! I never foresaw this happening in my life! So, that's briefly my recovery journey. Art, 12 steps, mens groups, workshops, travel, getting a job, being in a relationship, etc., have all been part of that journey - all things I avoided in my younger years and drank instead off doing.
I am only moderately tech savvy, so I will hopefully navigate this site okay, and I look forward to connecting with an online community of recovery. I live a busy life these days and having on line connections becomes more and more important to me.

Here's a couple good threads to join:
The monthly class threads could always use input from someone with long-term sobriety. Right now, there's a group of people starting their attempt to stay sober at this month's support thread: http://www.soberrecovery.com/forums/...rt-2-a-25.html
Also, a lot of us check in daily at: http://www.soberrecovery.com/forums/...ml#post5799195
The "Class of February 2016 Support Thread part 2" just passed the limit of 500 posts and was locked, but here is part 3:
