Sitting at my stepmother's deathbed in the nursing home where she and my father reside. He is here in a recliner they've set up for him to sleep. Glad I am a sober, dependable person at times like these.

Yes, another one of the many reasons to not drink. I imagine your Dad if very glad to have you there. Good thoughts your way, I've been in similar circumstances and know how hard that is.
