Hello and welcome to the site.
Good luck.
But it will take more than luck. I didn't become an alcoholic because I was lucky, and I didn't get sober because I was lucky.
It took effort and work to get sober.
I attended AA meetings for awhile, but yet I drank. But a bug was planted in my head.
Here were all these people solving our common affliction with alcohol.
My drinking was never the same. I felt guilty. I was ruining my life when I knew it really was possible to get sober.
I went to more meetings and came here. I was a late stage alcoholic. And here were people working to get sober.
It all came together, all I had to do was not drink today. That, and keeping my spiritual house in order.
I worked on it, and it's been over five years since my last drink.
I wish the same for you and when you quit, I will say good work.
Go to those meetings and listen, speak if you want. Come here.
