I don't have any experience with opiates, but want to welcome you to the SR family.

I'm sorry you are still struggling, but be very proud of how far you've come.

Congratulations on 3 months clean!

For some people, maybe depending on what you used and how long or often, the cravings take a while to go away -- at first they're constant, and then they seem to come less often but in big waves.

They *do* come less and less often, and eventually go away completely.

The way I look at it, in addiction your mind and nerves were trained to cope with any kind of stimulation by using. Now with any kind of stimulation, that's the remedy they look for -- hence, a craving. You have to retrain your whole system.

It takes time & effort but you can do it!

I'd say if you're still having significant problems coping with cravings at 6 months, or if now they make you doubt you can stay clean, get professional help.

I don't know about those drugs but with alcohol I could make cravings continue forever by engaging in fantasies about how good it would feel. Try not to think about the pleasure of alcohol or drugs, and remind yourself frequently why you gave it all up
