ffs, drinking again

Dammit, I'm drinking again. These first days are always difficult. I just gave in. I could have been happy now.

What triggered it? A comedic show that had this funny bit about someone getting drunk and funny stuff happened.

Well, there's a trigger.

I don't know. I'm off to something. **** it.

Everything is a trigger when I am drinking. I am an alcoholic.

Keep coming back.

I just can't stop once I've had the first sip. Gonna regret this tomorrow...

Right. You're drinking now? If possible, pour it out, drink a quart of water and eat something. If possible, go to bed.

First sip will kill you.

I'm on the train and can't get off. Just ordered some extra beer to be sure
I have enough... Which should tell me I have a problem and it does.

I'm drinking a lot of water during this binge. Hopefully it will help with the hangover, since a hangover is a trigger for me as well. I'm on my 7th can, 12 to go. That's my thinking right now. I will either drink them all or pass out drunk before I get there. Which means there will be some left tomorrow. Which could start a new cycle. The nasty thing about being drunk is, I don't care. I'll see tomorrow. No worries until tomorrow.

I'll pray for you. The problem with drinking is that "tomorrow" never comes. If you are like me one drink sets off a vicious run....and "tomorrow" comes months/years later when I end up in detox...confused and wondering how this happened YET AGAIN. I'll pray for you....

I hope the support here can help you decide to get sober for good.

When you check back in tomorrow. What's the plan?

What do you want out of recovery? For myself i wanted a better life, i wanted the horrible things that were happening to stop.

Drinking caused them. EVERY single ONE.

Stopping drinking has made my life so much better. The drinking days are like a hazy nightmare now.

Thanks for the reminder. I hope tomorrow is your last day one.

When you returned to SR with a new userID, you said it was indicative of a fresh start on sobriety.

Oh, if the solution were so easy.

When tomorrow comes, if it comes up sober for you, I hope you will give much thought to adding substantial recovery processes to your decision to get and remain sober.

Mike, it sounds like you really need to take action.

I hope you do something to stop this downward spiral.

How do I add a YouTube vid to my profile? There's this one song that even now slows my drinking and will be helpful in keeping sober, for reasons I can't explain. It's a very, very long story. Positive though. And that song just triggers all sorts of good things, including staying sober. Falling in love. Becoming happy. It is too difficult to explain how much this song means to me and how that came to be, so I won't even try. But I would like to add it to my profile to help me.

The explanation on how to embed mini YouTube vids in your profile seems to be outdated. I tried everything. Didn't get it to work.

Hey Mike, pour the rest out, get some rest and regroup!!

You can do this, your plan needs some tweaking, but there is no inevitability here, it is possible for everyone not to choose to drink, we just need the right support in place, use that support when we need it and change up our lifestyle in a radical way so it no longer facilitates the drinking of alcohol!!

You actually can - maybe you've never tried tho, Mike?

mike, a show on tv may have triggered tbe thought, but you have the ability to not allow the thought control your actions, dont you?
early recovery can be bugger. if i drank every time something came up that brought upmthe thought of drinking, i woulda drank all the time as everything was one of them triggers for me. alcohol was my goto for everything for many years. i had to fight to not drink and learn new ways to handle all them triggers, which i couldnt have done if i didnt fight.
