5 weeks and feeling stronger.
After 5 weeks sobriety I am feeling a lot better in myself. I had been going a drinking sessions since last Easter. I had bad withdrawals early December and ended up on a Librium script and in hospital.
I am now going to AA meetings again and doing 90 in 90. Also reading AA literature - AA comes of age.
I went back to work last week on phased return. First day was a bit nervous but I am settling back in. Pleased I am working again as it gives me routine.
Liaising with my doctor and I am now on medication for my depression. It also helps with my sleep. Medication has been really good. I am also attending counselling.
Funny how things fall into place when you sober up. I had been trying to sell my flat for ages and finally agreed on offer. I then made an offer on a 2 bed house a couple of miles down the road which was accepted. Just dealing with all the legal work now through my solicitor. It will be good to get away from my neighbour who is an idiot and assaulted me just over a year ago.
I will continue to attend meetings. From previous experience it is very easy for me to get complacent and for my ego to return.
I now appreciate the simple things in life. Going to bed tired but in a nice way. Waking up with a fresh head and knowing what I have said and done. I am not perfect and if I have made a mistake then I can deal with it with a sober head. Just having serenity is great.

You can have reasons, or you can have results, but you can't have both.

Yes, funny how things drop into place.
I heard someone in my office recently say, "The Universe rewards right behavior." That sounds off the wall, but from what I've seen it's true. I know from experience that when I'm off the booze, things just start to go a little more my way.
Give it even more time and see what else might start to go your way. :-)
