Coming back... Again
Hey everyone. I hope im posting this in the right place.
Im 8 days sober today and just came back to the forum today and wanted to say hi and reintroduce myself. Hopefully get to know some of you.
Most of the withdrawl has passed and I am attending AA meetings regularily... but struggling a lot with cravings and anxiety. I loved this forum last time I was on and am hoping to develop a support network here to add to my face to face meetings.
Hope everyone had a happy holidays and all the best in 2016

Welcome Just, I am John and I am struggling too. I get lots of positive stuff out of coming here. Whenever I think about a drink I just pick up a device and come here to reread my posts and the posts of others. For me, it really helps. I am glad you are here and wish you the best. See you around. John
Welcome back! I found that coming on here and attending AA meetings and reaching out here and in real life really helped with the anxiety and urges in the beginning. And a lot of ice cream. Well done.
Welcome back! I too have just came back last week and in 6 hrs I will be 8 days sober as well. 20 yrs of abusing the drink and 16 years of using drugs...not everyday but in binges...just keep coming back and read what's put out there it's helping me so far
You can have reasons, or you can have results, but you can't have both.

Awesome, 8 days! Hang out here a lot. These folks are getting me through some real dicey moments.
I second the advice about ice cream. I'm not really a sweets person but I'm receiving a lot of comfort from 1-2 large bowls of mint chocolate chip each day. With chocolate syrup, of course.
