Day 2 after 3 yrs out
Hi I am 2 days sober. I was sober for 13 years and relapsed 3 yrs ago. Going to a face to face tomorrow with someone I just found out about. She is even going to pick me up if I want. I do think I will have her do it, because my mind was trying to think of a reason to get a drink at my local club.....free drink card 2 left on it. I know the signs. I know I have not been eating good, so got out the grill and deep fryer and made myself a cheeseburger and fries. The craving went away for awhile, but it's back now. Hope everyone is doing good tonight. :worried

I am so sorry to hear about your relapse.
Glad to hear that you are going to have a face to face meeting tomorrow; support is so important in recovery.
You had a fantastic and impressive 13 years of sobriety; you can regain sobriety and lasting sobriety.

Welcome to the family.

Welcome Garden! I had 3 yrs. & went back out for 7! So I understand what you're going through. I can never go through that again - and SR helped me find the strength to change my life. You can do it - glad you are here.

Another welcome! My path was a little different. I drank moderately for 25 years, and thought to myself "I'm no alcoholic... " And it was "sort of" true, I was a normal Joe who had 2/day, no more, sometimes less or none.
Last 4 years, I started a spiral into mass consumption. Why? No idea, but I knew I had to stop.
It's odd how this disease rears it's ugly head. You had years of sobriety... you can get there again. It sounds like you are doing the right thing. SR has helped me TREMENDOUSLY. Lean on people here, they will definitely help. Good luck!

So glad you are here! I was clean and sober for 13 years and relapsed on alcohol; I was out for 8 years. I'm 3 years sober now. SR has been really key for my sobriety. Hope to continue to see you around here
