Checking In...(firebolt, do the same!)
Slowly getting settled in at the new place. Although I had planned to work yesterday, I ended up taking the day off. I was still exhausted from moving in the extreme heat on Tuesday, and frankly, still pretty emotional. I made sure to take it easy, although I did get a good amount of unpacking done while my son was at school.
Haven't heard much from AH. We talked briefly yesterday, and he might try to see our son tonight. He also has plans with our little guy for at least part of the holiday weekend. Apart from a brief talk criticizing me for a couple of things, it has been very subdued and calm. Honestly, even though he has known this was coming for a month, he obviously didn't think I would actually leave.
So far my little guy is handling everything very well.
And...no doubt part of the aftermath of finally being out of the intense stress, my adrenaline has subsided and I have come down with a NASTY summer cold.
Anyhoo, thanks from the bottom of my heart to you all. I always get annoyed at people on various "self help" shows who thank their therapists/trainers/nutritionists/whatever for "saving their lives." I always feel like saying "those people didn't save your life! You are the one who saved your life."
So, thank you all for helping me save my own life.

Congratulations! It's a very good sign that you got hit with the cold...your body might be ready to let down and start healing. So bask in the glory of your congestion! Isn't it wonderful?
Same thing happened to me and I felt physically horrible...but it passed.
So glad you're doing well. Hugs.

So glad you checked in, hope you are feeling better soon! (I had the same thought as Praying - could be a physical release of emotional crap, lol. Love this:

Ok firebolt....... we're waiting......
Wisconsin, I can imagine you're exhausted in every sense w/all you've been thru lately, and this heat is supposed to hang on until Tuesday, last I saw...
So glad you're finally out, and I hope the healing sets in as quickly as that cold did. Take good care, and my thoughts are w/you.

How pinkfantabulous - for me - it was a tough adjustment at first - but the joy & peace of not walking on "egg shells" will begin to fill you life & it will be wonderful.
Take care of you - your body is probably saying - whew we need a break!
big pink hugs

Congrats to you.................
I also had those dam stupid summer colds, they also happened when my adrenaline level got lowered. Only problem for me was that I kept going back. So it kept happening.
Just rest a little, take care of yourself, and let us know when you are ready to party this up. I'll bring the cheesecake!
(((((hugs))))
