14 days and finally sleeping well

Out of all the symptoms of withdrawal I would say the one that bothered me the most was the lack of sleep. Sometimes I wouldn't sleep at all, sometimes I'd get a few hours and sometimes I'd sleep pretty good but never on a consistent basis. Over the past 3 days I've finally been getting good, healthy sleep and it feels amazing. Plus waking up without a hangover is incredible, instead of laying in bed with a massive headache, nauseous stomach and guilt I am almost jumping out of bed.

The other day one of my friends remarked at how happy I've been looking recently. She doesn't know about my binge drinking so it was kinda special to know that not only am I starting to feel better but people are actually NOTICING that I look happier. Definitely something to file away and bring out if I ever feel like taking a drink again.

Hope everyone had a good weekend and is having a sober week.

The sleep issue was huge for me as well. Great news indeed. As I'm sure you've read on this site before, sometimes we think people don't know about our secret, but they actually do. Not saying that is the case for yourself. It must be very rewarding to hear the compliments.

Sleeping well and waking up feeling good are two huge rewards for staying sober. I love waking up ready for the day. And I no longer wake up hating myself.

Congrats on two weeks!

Great job on two weeks TS. Keep up the good work, your body will continue to adjust. It gets easier, I promise.

Sleeping sober is one of the most wonderful things. It feels fantastic! And to wake up feeling great. Rested. No misery at all. It is pure bliss to me.
