Unhappy It went badly

I didn't get the assessment today. Here's what happened. My appt was at 10:00 am. I was there at 9:45 am anxious as hell. Waited, waited, waited... then at 10:40 my intake guy shows up. I reminded him that he had an appt with me at 10:00 and that I was about to leave. He said nothing. No apologies. Nothing. Walks me into a room, asks for my paperwork. Reads it a little and then looks at me and says "what's your problem?" WTF? I stood up and I said "I think my problem is with you". And I walked out. He yelled after me that I only had ONE shot and if I left, they would not take me back. Again, WTF?

So I told the manager of the clinic what happened and I am waiting for someone above him to call me back. I feel very defeated. It took me a lot of energy to go and do this. Now I just want to see if I can just do this on my own again.

OMG ArtFriend! That's AWFUL!!! I am so sorry that happened to you. If you lived close to me I would seriously go there and give that person hell!

Please don't drink over him. He's not worth it! Karma will get him.

(((Big hug)))

Right? Thanks a lot Hopeless... yeah, the guy was a real jerk. The clinic was calling him and they couldn't find him, so I wonder where he was during those 40 mins? Maybe HE was drinking??

Well, I guess if they won't give you another chance, then it's time to move on.

Please don't slam the door on an opportunity to recover. I know it was difficult to bring yourself to go to the assessment, but it reads to me like you couldn't wait to bail out of there. As if you were hyper-sensitive to all the circumstances.

You have every right to "try it on your own." You didn't give up on yourself the first time you hit a snag. Perhaps you owe this program the same chance to make it right.

So I hope you get a call back.

That's a lousy and awful experience. I hope you find a way to more positive one soon!

Don't give up.

Don't give up. There are good and bad people in every profession in the world, you hit a bad one to be certain. But please don't use it as a segway to avoid seeking an assessment - that would be selling yourself short on some potentially very valuable treatment options.

Oh Art! I'm so sorry!

Is there another facility you can contact? (Sorry if you told the details for your situation and I missed it). Please don't give up and keep us updated. Keep calling them until you get a response.

Ugh, well, he sounds lovely. Lol.

I do hope they call you back, AF. But more importantly, I hope you don't allow this to get in the way of you getting into a program. Don't let this stop you.

I say don't give up and make an example out this sack of human feces. Escalate to his management until you turn bleu in the face if you have to.

My issue is that if this idiot keeps doing this, another client of his could jump of a bridge or something.

Rooting for you ArtFriend. I'll shut up now, my blood is boiling...

Hang in there AF. Don't stoop to his level. Your main goal at this point is to get yourself better.

Don't let one A-Hole derail what's in your best interest. Life is full of people like that, just be glad you're not him.

We're here for you.
