New to Sober Recovery
So I used to like to go out and drink socially on the weekends or at parties. I have always wanted to lead a completely sober life. Each time I have tried though, I might go for a month or two, but then I end up drinking at a concert or a party or something. It seems that most of the social events my friends participate in revolve around alcohol. I am coming to this site for help, support, and advice so that I can finally live a completely sober life.
Hi JoGorilla, welcome to SR.
Sounds like you already have the single most essential thing - the desire to quit. Lots of tips on how to overcome cravings and social activities without drinking as well as daily support threads for people who quit in May (for example).
Good decision. All the best

Hi and welcome Jo
I was like that too - eventually I decided if I wanted to be sober I needed to make changes in my lifestyle, what I did for fun, and who I did it with.
That may seem scary now but I promise you not one of us would be here if we felt we lost out on something by not drinking.
I got my life back
