Get physical
Get physical
One of the most important things I've come to learn in combating the addicted mind is that when my brain starts looking back with fondness at the disease, I need to get up and do something. Go for a walk, go for a run, a bike ride, a walk around the office to see how other people's days are going. I have to get up and get physical. Take action. Change the scene. I cannot sit there and try and out "think" this thing.

I started running about two years into sobriety ( roughly two and a half years ago). It has been great. I'll be at that 20K mark someday. But I've clocked about 1400mi so far. Ran my first marathon this Feb and have my next in December. But it's the daily solitude of running in the morning that keeps me going. Like a moving mediation.
