Get physical

One of the most important things I've come to learn in combating the addicted mind is that when my brain starts looking back with fondness at the disease, I need to get up and do something. Go for a walk, go for a run, a bike ride, a walk around the office to see how other people's days are going. I have to get up and get physical. Take action. Change the scene. I cannot sit there and try and out "think" this thing.

We cannot solve problems with the same level of thinking that created them. -Albert Einstein

We can't fix the sh1t in our head with the sh1t in our head. -AA

Agreed, I've run over 20,000 miles since my sobriety date.

I started running about two years into sobriety ( roughly two and a half years ago). It has been great. I'll be at that 20K mark someday. But I've clocked about 1400mi so far. Ran my first marathon this Feb and have my next in December. But it's the daily solitude of running in the morning that keeps me going. Like a moving mediation.

So true. I can get so stuck just sitting in my head. When that happens I have to do something. You said it, the key is Action.
