The recovery fairy
The recovery fairy
The recovery fairy like the Easter bunny doesn't exist.
I am an alcoholic and I want a quick fix! Give me a pill or a book and let me get on with my life. The last thing I feel like doing is working on my problems and doing things that make feel uncomfortable.
What I want is the life I have minus the alcohol. There may be a few other problems but junk the booze and they will go away.
Sprinkle some pixy dust on me and everything will be OK.
This thinking is as true for me today as it was a few 24 hours ago. I need to change or I will stay the same.
If anyone knows where I can score some good pixy dust please let me know

We had a short discussion about the sober fairy on a SR chat meeting one night. I kept on hoping the sober fairy would come too. It wasn't until taking matters into my own hands and learning what it takes to get sober here, that I was able to start achieving sobriety. It takes time, effort, change, dedication, and persistence.
