Going to first AA meeting today

Well, this is it. I just can't do it on my own. I really hope I feel a connection at this meeting. I'm a little embarrassed and hope I don't know anyone. But it's about time I admitted that I've got a serious problem and I need help.
Any encouragement you can send my way, I would appreciate. Thank you!!

Great decision! I was very nervous when I started attending AA but truly believe it's been a life saver for me. The support has been amazing.

Good for you! I hope you have a good meeting.

You made a choice to do something and get help. That shows a lot of willingness and that will take you far. Hold on to it

None of us who attend AA woke up one day and thought, gee I think I'll go check out a meeting, as life is so grand!

We were all scared and nervous walking into the rooms for the first time. I have found the program to be highly effective and the fellowship important in my recovery. AA and SR are a great 1-2 punch!

Give it some time and don't judge it good or bad for a few weeks is my only suggestion..........

Keep coming back!

Good job for going. Just be yourself and you don't have to talk if you don't want to.
I hope it goes great!

Although I've never frequented AA, I have gone to a few meetings, which all felt like "first" meetings since none of them were in the same place with the same people. But it wasn't awful. I was scared and nervous and all that, but no one pressured me to talk, before or during the meeting, and everyone was very approachable. I'm sure you will be fine, even if it sucks a little to take that first step of actually going. Sounds like it will be worth your while!

Years ago I went to my first meeting. It was a little unsettling. Now I am back to day 1, starting all over. I will be going to my "first" meeting again as well, maybe even tonight!
Good luck! You can do this.

I felt like that before my first one and didn't know if I would like it -

It was fine and it was nice to be around people who were in the same situation as me (more or less). It's great that youre reaching out for help.

Well, I did it!!! Everyone was very nice, didn't know anyone which helped. A nice lady gave me her phone number if I needed any support. I even got my first chip, which is cool.
I am so relieved to get the first meeting out of the way. I'm definetly going back tomorrow. It feels so good to take charge of something I was starting to lose control over.
Thank you, SR, for being there. It does feel good to have a face to face meeting, too.

Hi.
Great accomplishment.

Please use that # as that is where the personal help is located, try to collect more and use them also.

BE WELL
