Hey...where is all the chatter?

Just something I used to complain about and just noticed. The endless chatter in my head is gone most of the time! Thank god! I remember saying to my significant other "if this is going to keep up, it's just not worth it. I feel like I'm going crazy" I don't know when it lifted it's just gone. I'm so glad I hung in there and took all of your suggestions seriously. It does get better everyone. What a ride though, just give it time.

Lucky you.

I'm not sure my mind has ever been quiet. But as long as the chatter is not about drinking, I'm fine.

My mind is rarely quiet. But these days, it's positive chatter so I don't mind.

Thank you!

I seem to be ignoring it, or it's positive or whatever the case...it don't notice it anymore. It used to be RELENTLESS

I also have a very active mind. The big difference is when I was drinking / hangover, the chatter was crazy, mostly negative and anxious, even delusional. I don't mind the sober mental activity as long as it lets me sleep enough and it focuses on worthwhile things, and it does most of the time now, or I can switch it.

Good for you, countrygirl

me too.
It never ends. My thought faucet runs 24/7/365. But as long as it isn't yammering on about booze, I can handle that.

Wow - I never consciously noticed this but the constant whining in my head has gone too. Thanks for pointing it out - another pro for my list :-)
I'm in early sobriety still, and have to say my mind is more empty than calm but you're right - it's way quieter in here these days.
