I screwed up.
Welcome back, alchemist.
How about committing to daily posting and reading on SR; it helps to keep sobriety front and center in your mind and life.
Have you ever joined a Class?
(can't seem to find the link; I'll post it when I find it).
have you found the 24 Hour recovery thread?

You have a pattern of falling hard after short periods of not drinking? Is that all they are? Periods of not drinking, or are you engaged in some sort of recovery? Because there is a difference.
Belief in a Higher Power (which you seem to have) coupled with the structure and support of AA and working the 12 steps have kept many sober. Get active in your recovery and you can put an end to being sorry for your drinking.

Ready for a second opinion?
My addiction always told me I was a waste of space; that life is meaningless; that I was meaningless - so I might as well just drink.
My addiction is a liar and a thief.
I stopped listening to the opinions of a known liar and my life improved considerably. I highly recommend it.

Hello,
We are all sorry when we slip up, but we pick ourselves back up, shake off the dust and move ahead a little stronger than we were. Once the haze of the hangover passes, it is time for a new plan of action. Unfortunately for me, I did not emerge from my last binge unscathed. I totaled my vehicle and was arrested for a DUI. Thankfully, I did not hurt another soul or damage anyone's property. A terrible lesson and the beginning of an arduous journey to remain sober, get through court and alcohol classes, and get a restricted license for home/work travel during a year long suspension.
Obviously, I don't know your story, but we are all in this mess we call "addiction". It took a punch in the face to wake me up from my daily 12+ drinking habit. Keep posting, get support from people here and in your community. Best of luck !

Hi alchemist, I don't want to pry, but you want help through the nightmare, how long was the bender, is this a slip up or have you been on the night-train for days or weeks? Doesn't really matter I guess, but if you know you are going to experience withdrawal, hang in there. See a doc if necessary, of course. Me personally, no need to apologize, we are human and we make mistakes. You are here, a great first step. Believe in yourself.
Thanks for the support everyone. I hate messing up especially when I was doing so well. There has to be a easier way. I hate the withdrawals more and more and cannot continue doing this to myself.
