Temptation
Wrote this this morning about how I'm feeling at the moment.
It's just one little slip away,
One little drip, and I'll lose the day
And I can't run, I can't hide
Just so damn many times I've tried.
Just one thought, a small temptation
Just one excuse for recreation,
Just one bad day, Just one bad hour
And I still want you, that's your power.
I know your tricks, I know your games,
I know your call, but I'm still to blame
Your a choice, and I was weak
But you're not the happiness I truly seek
It's just one slip, slip and fall,
And before I know it I can lose it all,
But I know you're a liar, I've seen your face
I'm determined to stay in this place.
You won't take my life from me, not today
I can't speak for tomorrow, or years away
But for now I am strong, you're just a pill
I'm a little sore, yet stronger still.
So try and and break me, I can take the pain,
Try and stress me, I'm beyond the strain,
Try and tempt me with your siren's song,
But finally I know the notes are wrong.
Your's is a melody that tricks and steals,
You're a thief that never reveals,
I want you, the battle's broke me -
Who'll win this war, I'm yet to see.
But I'll never give up, I'll die trying,
Because I've got no more time for crying,
I'd rather be broken but still be me,
Then locked in a cage, wishing to be free.
