8 months clean

Hi all! Im coming into my 8th month clean from painkillers. Its been one hell of a battle. The 7th month was awesome. However for the past two weeks ive been having a hard time again. Anxiety has been high, have had tension headaches come and go for 3 months, just have times where i want to cry all day. Still feel fragile. I just cant wait for the days where these symptoms only last a few days instead of weeks. How much longer is this going to be?

Congratulations on 8 months!!

I abused one thing or another for years. It takes time, but it does get better.

Hugs and prayers,

Amy

Thanks everyone! This is the hardest thing ive ever been through. The mental, emotional, and physical aspects are at times so agonizing. Has anyone else made it this far? What has your experience been?

First off congrats!

Many people have been off pain meds for many years and are doing fine.
I have high anxiety at times also, but it doesn't seem to last too long, sometimes it lasts day after day but it seems to always get better with time.

Please get some support to help you not use pills, I've used them over and over and it never accomplishes anything except addiction or death.

Hang on ..it will get better..ok

It may or may not be related to sobriety. Clean folk get headache's, too. For some people, it can take up to a couple of years to really bounce back. Stay strong!
