4 months on tuesday - new here
New to this forum, pet woke me up in the middle of the night. Couldnt fall back asleep so i was searching the web abouy recovery and stumbled upon this page.
I had 4 months sober on the 27th, am almost thru the steps out of the big book with my sponsor and actually got asked to be the speaker for the first time at a big book speaker meeting this past Saturday.
AA and sober life has changed my life tremendously in 4 months. For me, it wasn't just about not drinking, my biggest problems were that I couldn't handle life sober, so i would pick up those first few drinks to numb - then that craving kicked in and i was off to the races.
Everyone has there own "war stories" that some I can relate to, but many others i can't. However i know i am where i am supposed to be because i can relate to how others felt.
Idk im blabbering, but i am forever grateful to be in recovery and though life is not perfect (it never will be), life is good.
