Finding the courage...
Has anyone one this site been, or still goes, to meetings?
I've been clean for almost 4 months, but it has been a struggle and it has nearly ended badly a couple of time... i think dumb luck more than anything was the reason i got through it.
But, i'm trying to find the courage to go to a meeting - it is on Wednesday and i am really nervous.
How hard was the first time going? Did lots of you put it off for a while?

its defiantly worth it to explore AA meetings! You will never know if you will take to it or not. I would keep an open mind about it and see how it goes.
Many people have strengthened their sobriety through AA.
Good luck!

I've been going to AA since October, I was nervous the first time but I was not put under any pressure to talk , I just sat and listened.
I went with an open mind and was glad that I did.
Now I've made a couple of friends there and I look forward to going.
You will be welcomed Gina, give it a go.

I went to a meeting at 7 am on my 5th day of sobriety and continued daily as I didn't want to be alone with me.
On day 12, I heard a woman share and instead of leaving, I walked to her and talked.
She guided me through those 12 steps on days 14 & 15 for relief.
Those 12 steps saved my life! I worked them again at 4 months, 8 months, and 18 months of sobriety.
