Other problems
11 days sober, feels a lot longer than that.Doing good,no cravings.I'm happy to be sober but now the financial impact is getting to me.Bills from a summer accident & latest hospital stay are pouring in,overwhelming me.The old me would be running for a 12 pack but not anymore. This is is going to be a real test for me.I've got to keep remembering that I always pay my bills no matter how long it takes.I guess I need a few words of encouragement.
Medical billing is the Devil himself after a hospital stay. Hospital, doctor, pharmacy, anesthesia, etc. all billing separately. Such a pain to keep track of!
I feel for you, My Friend. Glad you are posting here. One by one you'll manage all that paper. Chin up!

Try and take one thing at a time. I was so easily overwhelmed in early recovery.
I too had some medical bills to deal with, so I understand where you're coming from. I found the hospital and Doctor's were more than willing to work with me as far as payments go.
Some even reduced the bill.
Hang in there headcase, you can do this!

Hi Headcase well done on day 11
When i got sober i had a big debt and it used to make me shake like a leaf
So i phoned them up and arranged a payment plan & im slowly but surely paying that debt off
It calms my mind to know i sorted it out and i dont have to worry now
hang in there Headcase your doing really well

Hang in there. Paying accumulated bills and debt is a big trigger for me but I've started taking it one day at a time. Try what Opivotal and Soberwolf suggest and see if they will work with you. Whenever I am stressed I remind myself that drinking isn't going to make the problem go away and will make it worse.
Good job on 11 days AND for coming here to say you were feeling a little overwhelmed.

Hi and welcome to the real world that we escaped using alcohol.
You used the word problem regarding the bills, I’d suggest referring to them as a situation to be addressed.
I believe a problem for an alcoholic is the first drink of alcohol and to where that will lead us.
BE WELL

Hi Headcase
yeah it took me a while to sort out my finances - I had to speak to a lot of my creditors and make payment plans - as humiliating as that was, it worked and I got back in the black eventually - never been in the red since
