New Year's Resolutions!

Happy New Year everyone! Hope you all stayed safe and sober.

I am on Day 18 and made it through the holidays Safe and Sober.

I am making a resolution to be a better father and husband to my 18 - Month old daughter and give sobriety my all in 2015.

It truly feels amazing to have so much support from everyone here even though we may be divided by oceans but are united in our quest to attain a common goal. I really love SB and the people here.

So let's all resolve to be better in health and happiness in 2015.

Please share with us on what you expect from this New Year! God Bless us all and let our inner light shine and destroy all demons we have been living with for so long!

-Mo

Happy new year alchemist and great job on being on day 18!

I am looking forward to a new year in which I am not handicapped by my drinking any longer.

When I started this sober journey three months ago, my knee jerk reaction to thinking about a life of sobriety had an element of feeling like it was a prison term...somehow punitive and something to endure. During 2015 I'll strive to realize that the opposite is true and view my new life for the gift that it is. I want to appreciate the new freedom that I have from the chains that held me for so very long.

I want 2015 to be a year that i am a better wife, mother, friend, co-worker and daughter.

No more feeling rough, agreeing to do things i dont want to do, spening loads of money on drink and i want to be healthier, not 36 feeling about 100 most the time

Congrats on the 18 days. Resolutions? Sobriety, be a better husband and father. If i conquer the sobriety the other two are much easier to tackle

Getagrip,

I am also 36 years old but feel much older due too all the drinking I have done in those 36 years!

I'm not big on resolutions. I know it's fun but I usually figure that, as an adult, if I want to do something I'll just get to it.

That being said, if I keep this sobriety going some of the things that I would like to accomplish should just fall into place. Exercise more, practice my music more, read more.

I don't know why, but I have a tendency to pick up smoking (cigarettes) in the winter months. Then I quit in the spring and don't even think about it through the summer. When it starts to get cold outside I pick up the habit again. This is something I know I should work on.

Best to all in 2015! SDH

Meditate every day. Can be just 5 or 10 mins, but do it every day.

Don't get addicted to anything. (Even meditation).
