If you struggle with New Year's Eve
Hi, I was a real badass drunk on New Year's Eve most years. I usually didn't remember anything past 10 pm or so. Next day I wake up in my bed if I was lucky. Most of the time I wake up in a place where I can't recall, what a horrible feeling. Then I spend Jan 1, with anxiety and fighting with my wife. Then promise her and myself that I'm quitting and then by the following weekend or so I was back at the bar.
I'm writing this as a reminder that you don't have to go out and drink tonight. Remember all the fun things you can do tomorrow instead of battling hangover and anxiety. Spend some time relaxing and eat some good food and then do something worthwhile tomorrow. Even if you are not that productive tomorrow just relax and have a nice restful day. Don't ever forget that the few hours of drinking tonight is never worth it. Stay strong.

Great post, tnman!
Even when I was drinking, I never went out on NYE. Too many crazies out there and too many police checkpoints. In any case, NYE is my Mom's birthday and we always stayed home and celebrated that.
