Im back -now low -wake up call

I will keep this short. (because we all have long stories don't we?!)
Ive been here 4 months or so. quit for a few weeks etc.
Last Sat, went to family event (X mas related).
Had a beer , PANICKED! - because I would have to go back at least six more times to keep buzz going-(what if I cant get enough-quick enough?)
So I bought a pitcher. pounded it. Then another.
Next thing I know Im trashed....evening continues....
Next morning(hung over btw)When the better half asked how I liked her Moms food that night
I COULD NOT REMEMBER EATING - LIKE AT ALL!!!
My first Blackout.
Im done, ENOUGH
Im back with ya all....to stay.
Thanks for listening- I feel like Ive come clean now. who hoo 2015 is looking awesome already!

Glad you are posting livingnow. When I post and share what is going on with me, it is a way for me to keep myself accountable. What is your plan to keep yourself free of alcohol? Checking in on SR daily has been really helpful for me. Do you have other face-to-face support systems? I go to AA periodically and counseling frequently; I find it helpful to get feedback from other people.

Livingwell, blackouts are very scary, for sure.

I'm glad you're back and determined to do this.

That's made my day living now.

The message that alcohol can really screw up your life is getting out there and you deciding to get serious about getting off it is just marvellous.

Well done and all the best with your sobriety

I have been there many times, I give into the fantasy that "it will be worth it" or "I just need this"… "just one". But time and again, "just one" leads me running to the store, to make sure an avalanche of bourbon is at at hand.

I'm glad you're here and recommitting yourself livingnow. Like JohnZ mentioned, just having a drink always lead to more for me too.

Know what's scarier than a blackout? When they become a normal daily occurance which they will if you allow this progressive addiction to keep progressing. Welcome back.
